Dr. Koch was born and raised in San Francisco, attended UC Berkeley, UCLA,
USC and University of Hawaii. After completing a fellowship training,
Dr. Koch moved to Humboldt County to be near the ocean and rivers, partially
to satisfy his passion for surfing and fly fishing.
Throughout his career, Dr. Koch has extensive experience in all areas of
othopaedic surgery. Dr. Koch's true passion and focus area has always
been knee surgery and athletic injuries. His main practice involves knee
surgery and performs over 200 knee surgeries every year. Additionally,
Dr. Koch has experience with knee arthroscopy, cartilage resurfacing,
ligament repair, and total knee replacement.
Some of Dr. Koch's accomplishment's as an orthopaedic surgeon include
being the team physician for Humboldt State University and College of
the Redwoods since 1983. Dr. Koch raised his three children in Humboldt
County and plans to retire in this community. When not working, Dr. Koch
enjoys spending time with his family and spending time outdoors.
