Eureka, Calif. (April 27, 2017) – Two hospitals in Humboldt County recently received
Excellence in Healthcare Awards for nursing care, as well as inpatient and outpatient services. Given
by national healthcare research leader
Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC), these awards are based on the surveys of patients:
- At St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, radiation oncology services were ranked
in the Top 10 percent nationwide for Overall Quality of Care, receiving
a 5 Star Award. The 5 star award is based on the percentage of patients
who rated the service line as “Excellent” for the Overall
Quality of Care question.
- The North Coast Surgery Center at St. Joseph Hospital also received a 5
Star Award.
- At Redwood Memorial Hospital, inpatient services received a 4 Star Award,
ranking in the Top 25 percent nationwide for Overall Quality of Care.
In addition to recognizing organizations and individuals who achieve excellence
throughout the year by improving patient experiences, PRC also surveys
physicians to learn more about their perception of services and care at
the hospital. Based on the results of this survey, Redwood Memorial Hospital
received a 4 Star Award, scoring in the top 25% nationally for both inpatient
and outpatient nursing care.
