Fortuna (Oct. 23, 2014) –Tickets remain on sale for Redwood Memorial Hospital's largest
fundraiser of the year, the 33rd annual Benefit Ball. This year this "Safari Adventure"-themed
event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the River Lodge in Fortuna.
Every year, the much-anticipated gala brings together community members
and hospital supporters for a night of dinner, dancing and auction items
– and this year is no exception. Nearly 300 guests are expected
to attend this year's ball, which is expected to sell out quickly.
The Benefit Ball is organized by a committee of the Redwood Memorial Hospital Foundation,
which donates the event proceeds to the hospital's area of greatest
need. Over the years, Benefit Ball proceeds have been used to purchase
new medical equipment for the hospital, including a fetal monitoring system,
4-D ultrasound, digital mobile imaging system, operating room video equipment,
32-slice CT scanner, digital mammography equipment and endoscopy equipment.
This year, proceeds from the Benefit Ball will go toward the purchase
of state-of-the-art surgical equipment.
"The Benefit Ball is a wonderful opportunity for the community to
get together to support Redwood Memorial Hospital," said event co-chairman
David Somerville. Added co-chair Becky Giacomini, "The new equipment
is an important advancement for the hospital, and we are asking the community
to help fund it by joining us for this fun event."
As part of St. Joseph Health Humboldt County, Redwood Memorial Hospital
provides much needed services to patients throughout the Eel River Valley
– and beyond. The community's continued support of Redwood Memorial
Hospital is a significant factor in the hospital's ability to provide
high quality medical care to the community.
