Fortuna (September 13, 2013) – Golfers will get into the swing of things for the sake of quality
health care in the Eel River Valley at the fourth annual Scramble for
Redwood Memorial Hospital on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. Hosted by the Redwood
Memorial Foundation, this unique and fun golf tournament is a benefit
for Redwood Memorial Hospital.
Golf players of all levels are challenged by 18-hole course at Redwood
Empire Golf & Country Club and are encouraged to participate in a
variety of contests, including long drive, closest to the pin and duck
pitch competitions, with prizes for all winners.
Proceeds from the Scramble will benefit imaging services at Redwood Memorial
Hospital Hospital, specifically funding the renovation of the existing
radiology room and the purchase of state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment.
Digital radiology systems offer high-contrast image details to enable care
providers to more clearly view and manipulate images. This state-of-the-art
technology includes a wireless detector which electronically transmits
the digital images straight to the computer, meaning the images are immediately
accessible and more easily transmitted to other providers. Additionally,
the project also includes new mobile capabilities, making it possible
for patients who are bed-bound to receive digital X-ray exams and for
those exams to be evaluated immediately by a physician.
"Enhancing digital X-ray capabilities at Redwood Memorial Hospital
means we are able to provide better care more efficiently for our patients,"
said Dom Previte, director of Diagnostic Imaging at Redwood Memorial Hospital.
The gold sponsor of the Scramble for Redwood Memorial Hospital is PG&E.
Silver sponsors include: CA Bio-Pharma Labor Management Association, Landmark
Realty, The McLean Foundation, Ralph A. Roberts, DDS, Sonoma Imaging and
Sunshine Lands, LLC.
