Cheryl Johnson, RN, Charge Nurse Short Stay

I oversee daily operations, which means being involved in all patient care, post-operative, patient education, infusions, injections and lumbar steroid. I've always been interested in medicine. I was a high school volunteer and have been with St. Joseph for thirty-eight years, eighteen in labor and deliver and twenty in short stay. In that time I've learned that this job is about connecting with patients on a deeper level… compassion and building trust. As someone who comes from Eureka, the sense of community for me goes beyond walls of the hospital. So I try to make every patient interaction count. I love being part of a system that I have faith in and can recommend…. I believe you truly get back everything you give.

When you’re our patient at St. Joseph Health, everyone is committed to the care you experience. Our quality service and excellent care shine through — from the biggest procedures to the smallest details. We know how uniquely privileged we are to serve our dear neighbors in Humboldt County.
